1967 Ford Mustang Coupe Rental Added in California
Rent Muscle Cars has added this 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe through the USA Movie Cars network. The vehicle sits in Lakewood, California, giving California productions a ready option for period-appropriate picture car needs without long-distance transport.
Spotlight on this 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe
This 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe carries a poppy orange exterior paired with a black interior. The two-door body keeps the classic Mustang silhouette intact, and whitewall tires mounted on original hubcaps add period-correct detail. Chrome headers and Flowmaster mufflers sit under the car, while the 289 V8 engine remains mostly original.
Producers scouting California film cars often look for vehicles that read as authentic 1960s without heavy modification. The combination of the orange paint, black trim, and stock-appearing wheels lets this Mustang blend into street scenes or stand out as a focal element depending on how the shot is framed.
Rent Muscle Cars and the California Picture Car Market
Rent Muscle Cars focuses on muscle car rentals for film and photo work, and the addition of this Mustang expands options for crews working in Southern California. Lakewood sits in Los Angeles County, so the vehicle can reach most Los Angeles-area sets the same day. Productions filming elsewhere in California can still use the car because USA Movie Cars maintains a network that routes requests to local suppliers.
USA Movie Cars works with state picture-car sites such as California Picture Cars to help productions find local picture vehicles. This arrangement reduces travel time and simplifies logistics when a production needs a 1967 Mustang in California rather than shipping one from another region.
History of the 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe
The 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe arrived during the second full year of Mustang production. Ford refined the original 1964-1/2 design with a longer hood, more pronounced rear quarters, and updated interior options while keeping the compact footprint that defined the pony-car segment. The 289 cubic-inch V8 remained a popular choice for buyers who wanted performance without moving up to the larger 390 or 428 engines offered later in the decade.
Coupes like this one appealed to a broad range of owners in the late 1960s because they balanced sporty looks with everyday usability. Many examples stayed on the road for decades, which is why productions still encounter them in period settings set between 1967 and the mid-1970s. The body style and available options from that year give filmmakers a recognizable yet not overly flashy vehicle that fits both urban and suburban backdrops.
California Picture Car Rental Uses
Crews filming in California can place this Mustang in late-1960s street scenes where the orange paint and whitewalls help establish the era. It works equally well as a background vehicle parked along a curb or as a character car driven through a neighborhood establishing shot.
Still photographers and commercial directors have used similar Mustangs for automotive spreads and lifestyle campaigns that need a vintage California feel. Music videos and branded content shoots often rely on one or two period cars to add texture without dominating the frame. Event producers have also requested 1960s Mustangs for displays that recreate drive-in or car-club atmospheres from the same decade.
