1966 Ford Mustang Convertible Rental Added in Washington

Rent Muscle Cars has added this 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible to its picture car offerings through the USA Movie Cars network. The vehicle is based in Dallesport, Washington, giving productions working across the state a classic convertible option for scenes that call for 1960s styling. Crews searching for a Washington picture car rental now have another local choice that blends period appearance with updated mechanical features.

Spotlight on this 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible

The car received a full restoration two years ago and remains in strong condition. It carries fresh Nightmist blue paint, a blue and white pony interior, and a white convertible top with matching boot. While the car is technically a restomod, it retains an original look from the outside except for a brushed stainless steel dash and LED headlights. Hidden upgrades include power brakes, Borgeson power steering, a 302 cid engine with Holley Sniper 2 fuel injection, plus suspension and drivetrain improvements that support reliable performance on set.

Producers can inspect the vehicle knowing that most modifications stay out of view during filming. The blue exterior and matching interior combination works well for establishing shots or character-driven sequences set in the mid-1960s. Because the top is white and removable, the car can shift quickly between open and closed configurations depending on the needs of a particular scene.

Rent Muscle Cars and the Washington Picture Car Market

Rent Muscle Cars focuses on vehicles that fit both muscle car and classic categories, and this Mustang aligns with that emphasis. The addition expands options for crews filming in Washington who need a convertible that reads as period-correct without requiring extensive set dressing. Dallesport, Washington sits in a convenient part of the state for productions that move between the Columbia River Gorge and larger metro areas.

USA Movie Cars works with state picture-car sites such as Washington Picture Cars to help productions find local picture vehicles more easily. This network approach reduces travel time for coordinators who prefer to source Washington film car and Washington movie car rentals close to their shoot locations rather than importing vehicles from farther away.

History of the 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible

Ford introduced the Mustang in 1964 and quickly expanded the lineup to include a convertible body style. By 1966 the model had already become a cultural fixture, with the convertible version popular for its open-air driving experience and sporty proportions. The base trim package offered a clean design that many buyers chose for daily use or weekend cruising.

The 1966 model year kept the early Mustang’s compact footprint while refining interior details such as the pony upholstery pattern. Convertibles from this era remain recognizable in photographs and film because of their distinctive long hood, short rear deck, and removable top. This particular example preserves that silhouette while incorporating modern safety and performance updates that make it practical for repeated use on productions.

Washington Picture Car Rental Uses

Crews filming in Washington can use the Mustang for period scenes set in the 1960s, whether the story takes place in a small town or along scenic highways. The blue paint and white top provide strong visual contrast against green landscapes or urban backdrops common in the state. Its two-door convertible layout also works for character vehicles that need to convey a sense of freedom or nostalgia.

Beyond scripted work, the car suits commercials, still photography, music videos, and branded content shoots. Event planners have placed similar classics at corporate gatherings or private functions where a vintage vehicle adds atmosphere without dominating the space. The automatic transmission and updated steering make it straightforward for drivers to handle during long production days.
