Rent Muscle Cars has added a 1964 Pontiac GTO to its roster through the USA Movie Cars network. The vehicle sits in Mesa, Arizona, giving local and visiting productions a classic convertible option for shoots across the state. Crews working on period pieces or looking for authentic 1960s American muscle now have another Arizona picture car rental choice without needing to source vehicles from out of state.

Spotlight on this 1964 Pontiac GTO

This 1964 Pontiac GTO presents as a fully restored convertible with red exterior paint and matching red vinyl interior. The two-door body style and manual transmission keep the driving experience true to the era. It seats four with seatbelts installed, allowing flexibility for scenes that require multiple occupants on camera.

The red color combination stands out against desert backdrops common in Arizona filming. Producers can use the open top for establishing shots that show the vehicle in motion or parked in period-appropriate settings. The restored condition means the car photographs cleanly for both motion and still work.

Rent Muscle Cars and the Arizona Picture Car Market

Rent Muscle Cars focuses on muscle and classic vehicles for film and commercial work while drawing from the broader USA Movie Cars network. This approach connects productions with vehicles already located in Mesa, Arizona, reducing transport time and costs for shoots based in the Southwest. Local coordinators benefit from having options that match the regional landscape without long-distance logistics.

USA Movie Cars works with state picture-car sites such as Arizona Picture Cars to help productions find local picture vehicles. The network structure lets crews search by state first and then expand to national listings when needed. Mesa, Arizona, serves as a practical hub for this vehicle because of its proximity to Phoenix-area studios and varied outdoor locations.

History of the 1964 Pontiac GTO

The 1964 Pontiac GTO marked the start of the muscle car era for General Motors. Pontiac created the model by fitting a larger engine into an intermediate body, giving buyers strong performance in a more affordable package than full-size cars of the time. Convertibles added open-air appeal that fit the growing custom and youth-car culture of the mid-1960s.

The convertible body style remains one of the most recognizable variants from that first year. Red exteriors paired with red interiors appeared on many factory and dealer-ordered examples, reflecting popular color choices of the period. Manual transmissions were common on performance-oriented cars like the GTO, aligning with driver preferences for direct control.

Arizona Picture Car Rental Uses

Crews filming in Arizona can place this GTO in 1960s period scenes that require an authentic convertible. Its restored appearance works for character vehicles driven by leads or supporting roles set in that decade. Background texture shots benefit from the car parked along roads or in driveways that match vintage residential or commercial settings.

Still photography and music video productions gain a clean, eye-catching prop that reads clearly on camera. Event and branded content shoots can use the vehicle for static displays or slow driving sequences. The manual transmission and four-seat layout allow directors to stage scenes that involve shifting gears or multiple passengers without modern safety equipment visible.
