1962 Oldsmobile Convertible Rental Added in Colorado
Rent Muscle Cars has added this 1962 Oldsmobile Convertible to its picture car offerings through the USA Movie Cars network. The vehicle is based in Lafayette, Colorado, giving local and visiting productions access to a period-correct convertible without leaving the state. Crews working on film, television, or commercial projects in Colorado now have another option when they need authentic 1960s transportation.
Spotlight on this 1962 Oldsmobile Convertible
This listing shows a Dynamic 88 convertible kept in original condition. The exterior is finished in Cirrus blue, paired with an original tri-color blue interior and a white convertible top. Two-door body style and gasoline power with automatic transmission are noted in the details supplied by the owner.
The combination of factory colors and preserved surfaces makes the car suitable for scenes that require a clean, unrestored look from the early 1960s. Producers can place it in establishing shots or use it as a character vehicle where the top can be raised or lowered depending on the weather and script requirements.
Rent Muscle Cars and the Colorado Picture Car Market
Rent Muscle Cars works with the USA Movie Cars network to connect productions with vehicles located across Colorado. The Lafayette base places this Oldsmobile within easy reach of crews filming in Boulder County or traveling along the Front Range. USA Movie Cars also coordinates with state-level directories such as Colorado Picture Cars so that location managers searching for local inventory can find options more quickly.
When a production needs multiple vehicles, the network approach lets coordinators check both muscle-car specialists and classic-car owners in one place. This saves time compared with separate searches across different state sites and gives crews working in Colorado a broader selection of picture vehicles without relying solely on out-of-state transport.
History of the 1962 Oldsmobile Convertible
The 1962 model year fell within the early-1960s period when full-size American convertibles were still common on roads and in driveways. Oldsmobile offered the Dynamic 88 as a mid-level series that combined standard mechanical features with upscale trim options. Convertibles from this era were often chosen for family travel or weekend use, giving them a familiar presence in period photography and footage.
The body style and top mechanism reflect the engineering of the time, with a steel frame and fabric covering that could be operated manually or with optional power assist. Retaining the original tri-color blue interior and Cirrus blue paint allows the car to represent everyday transportation rather than a heavily customized show vehicle.
Colorado Picture Car Rental Uses
Productions set in the 1960s can use the convertible for street scenes, parking-lot shots, or drive-by sequences where the top-down profile helps establish the decade. The blue color scheme blends with both urban and rural Colorado backdrops without drawing attention as a modern replica.
Still photographers and music-video crews can position the car as background texture or as a prop for talent interaction. Event planners looking for period atmosphere at corporate functions or branded activations sometimes request similar convertibles to create photo opportunities that match a mid-century theme. The vehicle’s original condition reduces the need for set dressing when the script calls for an unaltered car from that year.
