Spotlight on this 1920 Dodge Brothers Touring
This mint-condition example carries a black exterior and black interior. It features a convertible soft top, two-door body, and manual transmission. The clean lines and period details stand out in any frame, whether the top stays up or folds down for open-air shots.

History of the 1920 Dodge Brothers Touring
Dodge Brothers introduced the Touring model in the years following World War I. The body style offered an open cabin with a folding soft top, seating for several passengers, and a straightforward chassis suited to the roads of the era. Gasoline power and a manual gearbox were standard, matching the mechanical layout of most passenger cars built in 1920.
The 1920s saw rapid growth in private automobile ownership. Touring cars served both daily transport and longer trips, appearing in city streets and rural settings alike. This Dodge Brothers example reflects that period with its exposed mechanics and minimal ornamentation. Its museum background preserved the original appearance, and its use in the television series 1923 confirms it can read correctly on screen without heavy modification.
New York Picture Car Rental Uses
Crews filming period dramas set in the 1920s can place the car on residential streets or in front of older buildings to establish time and place. The convertible top allows quick changes between closed and open configurations depending on weather and shot requirements.
Still photographers and commercial directors often need background vehicles that do not distract from products or talent. This Touring supplies quiet period texture without bright colors or modern details. Music video directors and event planners have also used similar cars for stylized sequences or branded activations that reference early automotive history.
